Full Day Khasab Musandam Dhow Cruise With Lunch

Our Khasab Musandam dhow cruise costs AED 150 per adult and AED 100 per child, and infants go free. The price covers six hours on a traditional dhow in the Musandam fjords, dolphin watching, swimming, snorkeling and kayaking at Telegraph and Seebi Islands, a traditional Omani lunch and refreshments all day. You report at Khasab Musandam Dhow Port at 9:30 am, the dhow leaves at 10:00 am and you’re back at 4:00 pm.

Khasab Musandam Dhow Cruise Price

The cruise price covers six hours on the dhow, lunch, refreshments and every activity on board. Transport to Khasab, the UAE exit fee and the Oman visa are not included.

A 50% deposit confirms your seats, and you pay the balance in cash on the day. Group discounts are available, so ask us on WhatsApp if you are booking for a large group.

Meeting Point At Khasab Musandam Dhow Port

The cruise starts from Khasab Musandam Dhow Port. Please be at the port by 9:30 am, because the dhow leaves at 10:00 am. Free parking is available at the port.

If you drive from Dubai, leave by 6:00 am. The drive takes 3 to 3.5 hours, including the Al Dara border crossing. If you’d rather not drive, book our Khasab Oman tour from Dubai with door to door pickup, or a private car with our Dubai to Khasab transport.

Khasab Musandam Dhow Cruise Itinerary

• 9:30 am Board the dhowCheck in at Khasab Musandam Dhow Port and board a traditional dhow. The crew serves Arabic coffee, tea, fresh fruit and soft drinks, and gives a short safety briefing. Life jackets are on board for every guest, including kids.
• 10:00 am Into the fjordsThe dhow sails into Khor Sham, the local name for the Musandam fjords, between cliffs that rise straight out of the water. You pass the fishing villages of Nadifi, Qanah, Maqlab and Sham, which can only be reached by boat. The water inside the fjords is usually calm, so the ride is smooth even for young children.
• 10:45 am Dolphin watchingBottlenose and humpback dolphins often swim alongside the dhow, and the crew slows down so you can watch and take photos. Sightings are common, but the dolphins are wild, so they can’t be guaranteed.
• 12:00 pm Telegraph IslandThe dhow anchors near Telegraph Island, where the British built a telegraph station in 1864. You can swim, snorkel and take a kayak out, using the gear and life jackets provided. Swimming is optional, and non swimmers can float in a life jacket or stay on the shaded deck.
• 1:00 pm Lunch on boardA traditional Omani lunch is served on deck while the dhow stays at anchor. The spread includes green salad, hummus, Arabic bread, biryani rice, white rice, chicken curry, beef potato curry, fried chicken and fish, vegetable gravy and dal fry. All food is halal, there are vegetarian dishes in every lunch, and soft drinks, water, coffee and tea stay unlimited.
• 1:30 pm Seebi IslandThe afternoon stop has clear water and a rocky reef, and it’s the best snorkeling of the day. Small reef fish gather around the rocks, so bring an underwater camera if you have one. After swimming, you can rinse off in the shower on board.
• 2:30 pm Cruise backThe dhow turns back through the fjords toward Khasab, with time to relax on the shaded deck. The light on the cliffs softens in the afternoon, so this is a good time for photos, and tea and coffee keep coming on the way back.
• 4:00 pm Back at Khasab portThe dhow returns to Khasab Musandam Dhow Port. Use the toilet and shower on board before you leave, since the drive back to the UAE takes 3 to 3.5 hours, longer on weekends and public holidays when the border is busy.

Khor Sham, The Musandam Fjords

Khor Sham is the longest inlet in the Musandam fjords, running 16 to 17 km inland between the Hajar Mountains. The cliffs drop straight into deep, calm water, which is why people call this corner of Oman the Norway of Arabia.

Fishing Villages Reached Only By Boat

Nadifi, Qanah, Maqlab and Sham sit at the water’s edge with no road access. Families here still live from fishing, and supplies and school children arrive by boat.

Dolphins In The Fjords

Bottlenose and humpback dolphins feed in the calm water of Khor Sham all year. They often swim at the bow of the dhow, so the bow is the spot for photos.

Telegraph Island

Jazirat Al Maqlab, better known as Telegraph Island, held a British telegraph repeater station built in 1864 on the cable line between India and Britain. The stone ruins and steps are still visible from the dhow.

Seebi Island

Seebi Island sits at the far end of the fjords, with clear water and reef fish around its rocky edges. It’s the quieter of the two swim stops and the one snorkelers like most.

Is The Khasab Musandam Dhow Cruise Good For Families?

Yes, it works for all ages. Children from 4 to 10 years pay AED 100, and infants under 4 go free. Life jackets are on board in kids’ sizes, and swimming is optional, so younger children can stay on the shaded deck. There is a toilet and shower on board, and all food is halal. Tell us your children’s ages when you book so the crew can prepare accordingly.

Our dhows hold 10, 20 or 30 guests, but we usually board around 10 to 30 people, so there is plenty of space on deck. Numbers can be higher on public holidays, but we always stay below full capacity.

Booking, Deposit And Cancellation

Message us on WhatsApp with your date and the number of guests. We confirm your seats and send a payment link for the 50% deposit. You pay the remaining balance on the day, in cash or by card. Card payments on the day carry a 4% fee charged by the payment gateway. Weekend departures fill quickly, so book a few days ahead.

Shared cruise: cancel 48 hours or more before departure and we refund your deposit within 7 days. Cancellations inside 48 hours are not refundable.
Private cruise: cancel 7 days or more before departure for a full deposit refund. Cancellations inside 7 days are not refundable.

If we cancel because of the weather or for unforeseen reasons, you choose between a full refund and a new date. Departures run daily from October to mid May.
