Khasab Musandam Mountain Safari To Jebel Harim

Our Khasab Musandam mountain safari costs AED 700 per 4×4 for up to 5 guests, in a private vehicle with your group only. If we pick you up from Dubai, Sharjah or RAK, it’s AED 1,500 for up to 5 guests with return transport the same day. You pay the UAE exit fee of AED 35 per person at the border, plus AED 50 per person for the Oman visa if your nationality needs one. Your driver picks you up anywhere in Khasab and takes you up the mountain road to the Khor Najd viewpoint, Bait Al Qufl, Sayh village and the fossils near the top of Jebel Harim, the highest peak in Musandam. The safari takes about 3 hours, with a morning start at 9:30 am and an afternoon start at 1:30 pm.

Prices are per vehicle, not per person. Each 4×4 is private for your group and takes up to 5 guests, including kids and infants. For bigger groups, each extra 4×4 is another AED 700.

A 50% deposit confirms your booking, and you pay the balance on the day.

Khasab Mountain Safari From Dubai, Sharjah And RAK

With the pickup option, our driver collects you from your home or hotel in Dubai, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah, drives you to Khasab for the safari and brings you back to the same address the same day. The vehicle is private for your group, and our team helps you with the paperwork at the Al Dara border. The UAE exit fee and the Oman visa are not included.

• Morning safari: pickup from 6:00 am in Dubai, around 6:40 am in Sharjah and around 7:30 am in RAK. You’re back in Dubai around 4:30 pm.
• Afternoon safari: pickup from 9:30 am in Dubai, around 10:10 am in Sharjah and around 11:00 am in RAK. You’re back in Dubai around 8:30 pm.

Pickup from Abu Dhabi and other cities is available on request at extra cost.

Khasab Mountain Safari Itinerary

Morning Safari

The safari starts at 9:30 am and you’re back in Khasab around 12:30 pm.

• 9:30 am Pickup in KhasabYour driver guide collects you from your hotel, the port or anywhere in town, with cold drinks in the 4×4.
• 9:45 am Khor Najd viewpointThe road climbs in tight bends to a lookout over Khor Najd, the only fjord in Musandam you can reach by road. You get about 20 minutes for photos of the bay below.
• 10:15 am Bait Al QuflA small stone house built half into the ground, with a heavy wooden door and lock. Families kept their food and belongings here while they moved between the mountains and the coast.
• 10:45 am Sayh villageA green plateau at about 1,100 m, with stone houses and small farms of wheat and fruit trees. It’s noticeably cooler up here than in Khasab.
• 11:15 am Jebel HarimThe 4×4 takes the unpaved road toward the top of Jebel Harim, the highest peak in Musandam at 2,087 m. You stop at the end of the road below the radar station, where marine fossils show in the limestone rocks.
• 12:30 pm Back in KhasabYour driver drops you at your hotel, the port or wherever you want in town.

Afternoon Safari

The afternoon safari follows the same route. It starts at 1:30 pm and you’re back in Khasab around 4:30 pm. You can also do the Khasab city tour in the morning and the safari in the afternoon on the same day.

Khor Najd Viewpoint In Musandam

Khor Najd is a narrow fjord a short drive from Khasab, with steep cliffs on three sides and calm green water in the middle. It’s the only fjord in Musandam you can reach by road. Everywhere else in the fjords you need a boat. The road from Khasab climbs through a set of hairpin bends to a lookout high above the bay, and the safari stops there for photos rather than driving down to the water. The view from the top is the one most guests remember from the safari. Morning light is best for photos, when the sun is behind you and the water looks its clearest.

Is The Khasab Mountain Safari Suitable For Everyone?

You don’t need to walk far or know anything about off-road driving, because the driver does all the work and every stop is a short step from the 4×4. The road to Jebel Harim is unpaved, though, with tight hairpin bends and some bumpy stretches. We don’t recommend it for pregnant guests, or for anyone with back or heart problems. If you get car sick, take something before you start and ask for a seat at the front. Kids are welcome, and everyone gets their own seat, including kids and infants, which is why each 4×4 takes up to 5 guests. We don’t provide child seats, so bring your own if your child needs one.

What To Bring On The Mountain Safari

• Car Mulkiya and NOC if needed (self drive)

• Sunglasses and a hat
• Light jacket in winter, as it’s cooler at the top
• Travel sickness tablets if you need them
• Child seat for small kids
• Camera or phone with space for photos

Booking, Deposit And Cancellation

Message us on WhatsApp with your date, the morning or afternoon start, the number of guests and if you’re driving to Khasab or want pickup from the UAE. We confirm your 4×4 and send a payment link for the 50% deposit. You pay the remaining balance on the day, in cash or by card, and card payments on the day carry a 4% fee charged by the payment gateway.

Cancel at least 48 hours before the safari on self drive, or at least 96 hours before with pickup from the UAE, for a full deposit refund. Within the same window, you can move your booking to a new date once, subject to availability. After that, cancellations and date changes are not possible, and the deposit is not refundable. If we cancel because of the weather or for unforeseen reasons, you choose between a full refund and a new date.
